D. R. Y collection was announced by the BRIX factory in 2009, and now it is available to Russian connoisseurs of Italian design. First of all, the collection will be appreciated by professionals - for a non-standard approach to the choice of form and an elegant solution to the issue of joining individual plates. The drawing is enclosed in one single tile. Using hexagonal shapes, the designer discovered an ingenious way to create a complex play of lines. Each tile can be rotated either side to avoid repetitions. In this case, the seams between the individual tiles become part of the pattern.

However, intellectual customers will also celebrate this collection. After all, interiors made with D. R. Y. - it's not just the durability and high-quality design inherent in almost every ceramics of worthy Italian factories. It is also "intelligence", enclosed in form by the art of the designer.

“To create a collection of D. R. Y. I was inspired by an irregular web of cracks appearing on old paint, plaster or dry earth. It gives a bright expression to the surface and a special character to the material. D. R. Y. Is an attempt to create a non-repeating pattern, dictated by my desire to bypass the stereotype of a design that repeats itself. With this idea in mind, the D. R. Y. can be interpreted as 'Don't Repeat Yourself'.”- Vincent van Dysen, BRIX Designer.

About the designer:

Van Dysen opened his own studio in 1990 in Antwerp, concentrating his efforts on architecture. He gained an undeniable reputation as an architect after the implementation of the project of the Concordia offices. Since then, his studio has been involved in both architecture and interiors and furniture design. Most of his design projects come from his architectural designs. He creates his furniture from the point of view of the architect, that is, proceeding from the space, and not starting from the form. This can be seen as a change in the scale of his architectural work. The balance between form and vision is an important aspect of its work, as well as durability, functionality and comfort. However, Vincent is no stranger to aesthetics; for him it is a key component of the “art of living”: the emotional side of architecture.
