His new work was commissioned by the Parisian district of Boulogne-Billancourt, on the territory of which the island is located. It is now occupied by the long-closed factory of the Renault automobile concern, on the site of which new office complexes, housing and cultural institutions will appear in the near future. It was there that the museum of the collection of François Pinault, designed by Tadao Ando (his plan failed) and the tower designed by Jean Nouvel (to be built), were supposed to appear.
The building, according to Ricciotti's plan, will connect concert halls, rehearsal studios and housing for musicians of various profiles. Its concrete walls will mimic the uneven surface of the rock, in the future, perhaps, they will be covered by climbing plants. From the side of the river, wide strips of glazing will break the facade, from the side of the island the windows will be smaller in area and asymmetrically scattered over the entire surface of the wall. With increasing height, their size will increase, since it is on the upper floors that the musicians' apartments will be located.
However, the main visual impact of the project is achieved by contrasting the heavy concrete top of the building with the fully glazed area of the first floor.
