The PEX (Parc des Expositions) complex was conceived by the architects as a compact “mini-city”, which became an alternative to the usual “sprawling” plan of exhibition centers with numerous pavilions. This solution is not only efficient in terms of logistics, but also allows to reduce the building site, leaving the surrounding fields intact: the PEX will be built on the outskirts of Toulouse.

It consists of three functional “ribbons”, united into a single extended volume 660 m long and 24 m high. From one end there will be an “event hall” with a huge door that allows you to use the outer space during performances, conferences and concerts. On the other side there will be an unsupported exhibition hall of 40,000 m2. The central "tape" will be a multi-level parking lot for 6,500 cars: it will be visible from the inside of neighboring blocks through their glass walls.

The architects propose to place the PEX in a "strip" 2.8 km long and 320 m wide: it will stretch from the Garonne River to the Airbus A380 plant and will become a future development zone.
