The Ministry of Construction of Russia is holding a competition among small towns (up to 100 thousand people) and historical settlements - for a project for the improvement and creation of a comfortable urban environment. Based on the selection results, 80 settlements will receive support from the federal budget for the implementation of the projects presented.

Almetyevsk. Master plan

Territory of the competition in Almetyevsk The competition is dedicated to the development of an area of about 1,700 hectares in the north of Almetyevsk, adjacent to the reservoir. This place should turn into an iconic public space for the city's residents, recognizable outside of it. The prize fund is 14.5 million rubles.

Eco-houses in the dunes

Participants are encouraged to design small eco-friendly tourist lodges that could be placed in a protected natural area in Abu Dhabi, home to a rare and endangered species of antelope, the Arabian oryx. The best projects will get a chance to be implemented. A total of 25 such houses are planned to be built.

House on the salt lake

The competition aims to stop the destruction of one of the surviving houses on the salt lake in the Sečovlje Salina Nature Park in Slovenia. Since the extraction of salt here ceased, most of the houses have fallen into ruins. Participants need to suggest ideas for a temporary intervention that would help solve the problem. The winner's project is planned to be implemented with the participation of the author.

Supergau 2021 - invitation to participate in the festival

Dental clinic in Rwanda

Flamingo Center in Abu Dhabi

The challenge for the contestants is to design a visitor center for the Watba Nature Reserve in Abu Dhabi, where over 250 bird species can be found. The "main characters" of the park are flamingos, for which most visitors come here. The center should include an information desk, café,t shop, showroom and other functional areas. Projects should be environmentally friendly, potentially feasible, and consistent with the general concept of the reserve.

UIA Award for Innovation in Architectural Education

The International Union of Architects (UIA) is organizing the Education Innovation Award for the first time. Architectural schools from all over the world can apply for the award. The goal is to demonstrate outstanding achievements in the educational field and the role of architectural education in solving pressing social and environmental problems. The awards ceremony is planned as part of the UIA World Congress, which will take place next summer in Rio de Janeiro.
