Yes, capital structures within the framework of the "Cities" have never been erected. Until now, this fun festival has specialized in land art - the "Cities" were built of wood, straw, snow and ice (depending on the season), built on a grand scale, but for a short period of time. At best, the witty creations of young architects served one season, and for a long time the concept of the festival was limited to just such temporary objects. Everything changed when the curator of "Cities" Ivan Ovchinnikov first suggested that the festival participants were capable of creating a project for a real residential building, and then decided to test this idea in practice.

"Archpriyut" is not just a full-fledged cottage where you can live all year round, but also an object built in record time. “The world architectural practice knows many examples of fast and high-quality construction, and now we will try to do the same, but in winter and with a minimum budget!” - this is how Ivan Ovchinnikov explains his plan. It is no coincidence that this "Cities" action has the slogan "A Game for Adults": architects must first come up with a building, then calculate all its structures and engineering schemes, prepare the necessary documentation, and then build a building using these drawings. Not just a puzzle game! At the same time, the organizers allot only … a day for the construction itself. In their opinion, it is precisely such fantastically tight deadlines that can ensure the cheapness and simplicity of the materials and structures used, as well as the maximum quality of the architectural object - after all, the designers simply will not have time for mistakes.

It must be said that only a few designers dared to accept such a difficult creative challenge. In particular, the architect Alexander Poroshkin developed the concept of an octahedral wooden tent formed by separate tents, which are additionally insulated in winter and can be heated. Each tent is designed for two people, while in the center of the tent a public space is being set up, designed for all kinds of seminars, creative workshops and informal gatherings.

The author of another project of an experimental residential building, the organizer of the "Archpriyut" action, Ivan Ovchinnikov, judged that although the octahedral layout is optimal from the point of view of keeping heat in the house, it does not allow the most rational use of the entire area, so he put a cube in the basis of his structure. The dimensions of the cube - 6x6x6 meters - were also chosen based on considerations of rationality: 6 meters is the standard size for both sawn timber and many sheet materials. On this square, Ovchinnikov fit 18 residential cells, which, if necessary, can be combined. This is a real haven for hikers: each room has a place for a tourist rug or mattress, personal shelves for things and individual lighting. The toilet is located on the ground floor of the house, and public spaces are grouped along the transparent southern façade, which can be used as a relax zone during the day or extra sleeping places at night. The northern facade and roof are also made transparent, while the eastern and western facades have no windows at all - this was done both for reasons of economy of materials and to ensure optimal temperature conditions. However, Ivan Ovchinnikov emphasizes that in its current form, his project is only a constructive model.“It is assumed that the facades and interiors can be designed by individual participants in the Archpriyut project,” says the architect. “Structural units, the building insulation and cladding system, as well as the internal system can also change in the process of further joint development”.

As a result of the competition, the results of which were announced on January 20, within the framework of the special campaign "Cities" in Shukolovo, it is the project of Ivan Ovchinnikov that will be implemented. At the moment, the Pioneer factory is manufacturing elements of an experimental house, which will be built on February 12 at the ski resort within one day. Within two weeks "Archpriyut" promises to become a meeting place for young architects, equally passionate about skiing and snow and ice art, and in early March the house will be transported to the "Archfarm" as a demonstration example of domestic eco-friendly housing.
