M. C. Building (also known as D Office) was built in the most prosperous part of the country, the Seoul district of Gangnam, which has gained international fame thanks to the song Gangnam Style dedicated to it.
Dense multi-storey buildings have determined the small size of the site - less than 600 m2 - and its shape elongated from east to west. It is facing the street with its short side.
The building is intended for renting out as offices or restaurants: the function depends on the choice of tenants, the layout is adapted for a variety of uses.
The architects compare the image of a building with a box being opened - say, with a gift inside - and with the pleasant feelings that this action evokes. Each floor has a balcony, glass on the facade is combined with stone cladding.
