The complex is located next to 20 hectares of forest - the conservation area of Goodwood Hill, and its 2.5 hectares of green territory seems to continue it. Two 12-storey L-shaped buildings containing a total of 210 apartments are separated by a 100-meter-wide courtyard: such a waste of land is a rarity in Singapore. Here it also helps to avoid the window-to-window situation, protecting the privacy of residents from prying eyes.

The courtyard combines a variety of zones: a shady alley running from the gate skirts the tennis courts hidden behind trees, leads to a cobblestone front yard with huge "rain trees" (albicia adobe), and then opens onto a central lawn with a large swimming pool. Smaller green courtyards are located at the exits from the underground garage. Also in the central courtyard are the concierge house, reading room, banquet room and additional pools. On the territory of the complex, 55 trees have been preserved that grew there before the start of construction, and another half thousand were planted later. It also has approximately 1,700 m2 of vertical landscaping. Overall, 80% of the site is occupied by green and / or public spaces.

Apartments differ in type depending on the floor. On the first one there are dwellings with very high ceilings and spacious terraces with swimming pools. You can fence off your territory from the central courtyard or, on the contrary, open a view there with the help of automatic sliding gates / "garden windows".

On the 2nd and 3rd floors there are 15 apartments with their own tree houses. Above, from 4 to 11 floors inclusive, the apartments are equipped with double balconies - an intermediate link between the interior and the exterior, reminiscent of the black and white villas of the colonial period that make up the surrounding quarters. On the top floor there are penthouses - "bungalows in the sky" - with terraces with pools.

All dwellings from the 2nd floor to the very top are equipped with retractable aluminum sun screens installed at a 45 ° angle to the north-south axis. They protect interiors from heat and prying eyes, reminiscent of the traditional fabric curtains and bamboo curtains of Singaporean homes. In addition, the apartments are shaded by the wide balconies of the upper floors (extension of 2.7 m or 4.5 m) with boxes for planting greenery a meter wide.

Like other WOHA projects, Goodwood Residence is able to do without air conditioning: both buildings are one apartment thick, which provides through ventilation there. Shaded facades and an abundance of greenery at all levels contribute to this. These measures, along with watering the plants with rainwater and groundwater (and storing excess water for use during the dry season), are helping to reduce maintenance costs by $ 600,000 per year (20%).

Also among the environmental components of Goodwood Residence are separate pneumatic chutes for organic and recyclable waste. In addition, 100% of the internal walls of the building were erected from recyclable materials produced from the remains of demolished buildings. All the "green" parts of the project cost the investor only 1% of the budget, since the architects conceived them from the very beginning, and did not add them at an advanced stage of development, as is often the case.
