The CityLife project is being implemented on the site of Milan's main exhibition center. The Yarmarka was moved out of the city center and commercial exhibitions have been held in a facility designed by Massimiliano Fuksas for 10 years, but the creation of a mixed development area in its former place is proceeding slowly. Of the three skyscrapers conceived there, only one is ready so far - a tower designed by Isozaki and Maffei, nicknamed "Straight", because to the other two, according to the projects of Zaha Hadid and Daniel Libeskind, this definition cannot be applied in any way.

Also, the office tower, officially named after the insurance company Allianz, is the tallest of the three, its height is 207 m, it became the second tallest in Milan and Italy after the Unicredit building designed by Cesar Pelli's bureau (217 m). The architects themselves, however, call the height not 207, but 242 m, but this includes the spire, which is not taken into account by the international organizations dealing with skyscrapers, in particular, the Council for High-Rise Building and Urban Environment (CTBUH) and Emporis.

The image of the building is inspired by the "Endless Column" (1937-1938) in Tirgu Jiu by the Romanian sculptor Constantin Brancusi: just like this abstract sculpture, the skyscraper is made up of a series of identical volumes stacked on top of each other, its bottom and top are not highlighted in any way, and therefore, in the imagination, you can increase its height to infinity.

Each module of the Milan tower has convex walls, so the tower seems to vibrate slightly. The area of each block is 24 mx 61.5 m, the height is 6 floors. Its facades are triple glazed. Panoramic elevator shafts are located at the narrow ends of the building.
