After graduating from the Moscow Architectural Institute in 1956, IB Purishev devoted himself to the study and restoration of architectural monuments of Yaroslavl and the Yaroslavl region. In the 50s, he became one of the organizers of the Pereslavl restoration site of the Yaroslavl scientific restoration workshop and the scientific director of restoration work in Pereslavl-Zalessky, to which he devoted more than forty years of his life.

According to the projects of I. B. Purishev and under his leadership, restoration of many ensembles and architectural monuments was carried out: the ensemble of the Uspensky Goritsky and Nikitsky monasteries, the Cathedral of the Fedorovsky Monastery, the churches of Peter the Metropolitan and Alexander Nevsky in Pereslavl, the architectural ensemble in the Korovnitskaya Sloboda church in Yaroslavl Elizarovo and others. The works of IB Purishev were awarded the gold medal of the USSR Academy of Arts, medals of the Union of Architects "For High Architectural Skill".

Peru IB Purishev owns a number of books about Russian cities and architectural monuments in them. Most of all he wrote about the city to which most of his life was devoted - Pereslavl-Zalessky. He has published numerous articles in domestic and foreign journals. For many years he collaborated with the Pereslavl Museum-Reserve, participated in the organization of the Pleshcheyevo Lake National Park.

Since 1973, in parallel with the restoration activity, Ivan Borisovich worked at the Department of the History of Architecture and Urban Planning of the Moscow Architectural Institute, where for more than 30 years he taught the course on the History of Russian Architecture. More than one generation of graduates of the Moscow Architectural Institute listened to Purishev's lectures, in which his especially reverent attitude to the monuments of ancient Russian architecture, the salvation and restoration of which he had been engaged in for many years, was always noticeable.

For many years and fruitful work on the study and preservation of architectural monuments, he was awarded in 1995 with the Honorary Badge of St. Luke, established by the Governor of the Yaroslavl Region for persons with outstanding achievements in the field of arts. In the same year IB Purishev was awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the city of Pereslavl-Zalessky."

For many years, Purishev carried out a lot of public work: he was a member of the Presidium of the Central Council of VOOPiK, headed the Scientific and Methodological Council at the Department of Culture of the Yaroslavl Region, repeatedly appeared on Central Television and Radio, and lectured on the history of Russian architecture at the Polytechnic Museum.

The bright memory of Ivan Borisovich Purishev will forever remain in the memory of everyone who knew him.

The funeral service will take place on August 3 (Saturday) at 10 o'clock in the Yelokhovsky Cathedral (metro Baumanskaya). At 11 o'clock. Departure by buses to Pereslavl-Zalessky, where a civil funeral service will take place.

The funeral will take place at the cemetery in the village of Ves'kovo near Pereslavl-Zalessky.
