Illustration: www.archistart.it Leverano is a small commune in southern Italy, located in the Puglia region. Grapes, olives and flowers are grown here. Previously, whole systems of observation towers were built in these places, which made it possible to detect ships of opponents attacking from the sea in time. And if the tower was located close to the coast, it was possible to fire aimed fire from it.

The aim of the competition is to design modern "observation towers" that would help preserve the archetype traditional for these places. Of course, the functions of the new buildings will be different: designed primarily for tourists, the towers should include an observation deck from which you can observe the natural beauty; small shop, visitor service and mini-hostel. New York 42nd Street Makeover - Idea Contest

Photo: beautyclub.kloop.kg
Photo: beautyclub.kloop.kg

Photo: beautyclub.kloop.kg The famous 42nd Street is one of the busiest in central Manhattan. It is busy and not at all convenient for pedestrians, despite the fact that 80% of people who use the street every day are pedestrians, not motorists. The main problems of 42nd Street are typical for highways: too heavy car traffic, lack of public transport, lack of public space and landscaping.

The organizers of the competition propose to make the section of the street between 1st and 9th avenues free of cars and to start up a light rail tram here with a speed limit of 24 km / h. The rest of the details of the transformation of 42nd Street are at the discretion of the participants in the competition.

Photo: www.facebook.com/orlinayasopka The first thing that greets guests and residents of Vladivostok when moving across the bridge towards the Gogolevskaya junction is the Eagle's Nest hill, which serves as a kind of "gateway" to the city and performs a representative function. Recently, on the slopes of the hill, infill development is underway, which not only deprives the townspeople of recreational space and obscures the view of the bay, but also goes in violation of building codes and regulations.

The competition is held in order to reveal the recreational potential of the Eagle's Nest hill and to show alternative options for the development of this object.
