- We saw the projects of the August workshop "Immersion" on Sheksna. Obviously, these are educational work, and yet - how likely is your school's participation in designing something real for the Russian Shores project? How fantastic are they?

- As for the fantastic - literally the words of the head of the Sheksninsky district administration, Yevgeny Bogomazov, on the defense of our projects: “It is very pleasing that each project presented by you is not from a fantasy world, all this is real, there is nothing supernatural”.

It goes without saying that everything is real when all the parties interested in the implementation of the project meet. And this is just such a case. The administration and investors are actively working on the Russkiye Berega project. And if more than seven years ago, when the first discussions initiated by Denis Pozdnyakov (chief architect of the Sheksninsky district) on the development of the embankment began, they looked at it with wide open eyes as an unrealistic project, today the situation has changed dramatically - both the head of the district and its administrative apparatus see great potential in the development of the Sheksna cultural, tourist and business cluster on the Volga-Balta. And most importantly, there is an investor who intends to build. But his aspirations must be directed in the right channels - here we need special approaches that correspond to a non-trivial task.

Of course, the work of our school's “DIP” workshops on the pilot section of the embankment is just a small contribution to a large project, but this year they will form the basis of the territory planning project. And next year we will continue to work in Sheksna throughout the entire embankment area within the framework of the “FLOOD” workshops. One of the main tasks is really to fit into the real design with the involvement of school participants, we consider the participation of local Vologda and Sheksna architects especially important

What will the Evolution school show at Zodchestvo?

- Now we are working on a large exposition, which will be called "BREAKTHROUGH". We will show what we have done during the six months of the existence of our project, including the mastering and immersion workshops, summarize the results of the COMPETITION competition, and also announce new practical intensive courses for the coming year. In addition, we will present our workshops of the Pro. Dvizhenie project with interior elements, and most importantly - the continuation of our reflections on Russian "industrial" houses for a meaningful existence - we are preparing new models of metal.

How does the Evolution school differ from others?

- Our project is the youngest in the Russian open spaces, therefore we are the most responsive, keenly interested, mobile, not greedy, brave, seeking, able to take risks, not dealing with urbanism. Plus, an unconditional priority is the ability to quickly get involved in the development of concepts for "neglected" territories. I am the initiator and curator of the school, and this leaves its mark. The main credo is creative "extremism".

Our positions:

  • not adjust to the context, but create a new one
  • do not lick and smear, but pump, strengthen and conquer
  • boldly go forward, contrary to conventions and stereotypes
  • to keep aspirations and fight against the "fatigue of the profession"
  • to love the Motherland

- I can't help but remember: "pioneer, love your Motherland, mother …", and so on. How does your love for the Motherland differ from the pioneer love? And from the Nashi? Do you love your Motherland unconditionally, whatever it does? Does your understanding of love for the Motherland include the education of the Motherland, criticism of the Motherland?

- Some kind of cry from the heart:). Let everyone understand love for the Motherland in their own way. First of all, I put into this a slight irony to all the topics that you touched on. The detailed answer to this question, or rather the questions, deserves a whole article, and rather a big one.
