The building contains, first of all, halls for a permanent exhibition of works by Nadir Afonso, an abstract artist, by education - an architect who worked in the Bureau of Le Corbusier and Oscar Niemeyer, spaces for temporary exhibitions and an audience for 100 spectators for film screenings, conferences, etc..d. The building is stretched along the bank of the Tamaga River, and due to the danger of floods, it is raised above the ground on a platform with a height of 3.5 m. Stairs and ramps, as well as an elevator, lead to the main level. The main level is essentially the only one except for the technical floor. This made it possible to make the development of the interior space almost continuous, as well as to provide the halls with overhead light. In addition, the building is cleverly revealed to the outside.
The building was erected from mass-painted white concrete; external staircases are faced with granite, balconies - marble. The new building is surrounded by the ruins of houses that once stood on this site and fruit trees preserved during the construction. It is planned to cover the area around the building with a lawn and plant trees and bushes, which will emphasize the architectural design of the building.
