The Lumiere Brothers Center for Photography has opened the first exhibition in Russia by the German photographer Julian Faulhaber. The focus is on public places (gas stations, shopping centers, cinemas, car parks) in Germany, Japan and the United States. The photographer takes pictures of objects at a stage when their construction has already been completed, but the space has not yet been touched by users.
In the gallery "Peresvetov pereulok" on Tuesday, the opening of the exhibition "The Voice of the City. Recording the City" will take place, dedicated to the exploration of Moscow and adjacent territories. Photo and video works of artists and urbanists will be presented here.
From 15 to 17 February, the capital will host the annual congress of the Association of Wooden Housing Construction. The third day of the congress - open lectures by Russian and foreign architects.
On Saturday in Nikola-Lenivets you can celebrate Maslenitsa. A thirty-meter sculpture by Nikolai Polissky "Flaming Gothic" will be given to the fire.
Finally, on Sunday, a series of lectures will start at the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center, timed to coincide with the 90th anniversary of the Bakhmetyevsky garage. The first performance, by the architectural historian William Brumfield, will be held under the theme “Avant-garde architecture through the eyes of a photographer”.
