Description from the authors of the project:

“The country house is located in one of the suburbs of Moscow, in its picturesque part, where rather dense low-rise buildings of private houses are concentrated. The specifics of the small site and the customer's requirements dictated the unusual layout of the building.

As architects, we were faced with the task of accommodating many different functions on a small building spot in such a way that they do not conflict with each other. We, accustomed to dealing with large-scale architecture, began to view a private house as a whole multifunctional quarter. And in this we found a solution to the task. So the main functional blocks of the house form a perimeter building around a private courtyard. It turns out that the building, as it were, consists of several small houses of different heights, forming a kind of micro-quarter on the scale of a country house. The blocks are distinguished by contrasting materials, including glass, brick and plaster. The result is the urban character of the development, located in a natural environment in a limited area.

At the same time, life in the “private quarter” is in full swing, just like in the city center, but on its own micro-scale. Each of the houses has its own functionality: bedrooms, nursery, living room and hall. All blocks are located so that their inhabitants do not interfere with each other. The bedrooms and the nursery are separated by a staircase, and a spacious, permeable hallway separates them from the living room. The courtyard unites all parts of the “block” and serves as a common private space, hidden from neighboring plots. It is protected from overheating and precipitation by a canopy. The private and at the same time permeable courtyard is a cozy space for family dinners, friendly gatherings, barbecues."
