The tower's governing body held an architectural competition for its 120th anniversary to design a new site at its top - twice the size of the existing one. This measure is intended to reduce the huge queue of tourists who want to look at Paris from a height of 275 m.
The new platform will be constructed from Sereno Architects in carbon fiber and Kevlar fiber, using these lightweight materials to keep the overall weight of the structure almost the same as before the redevelopment.
It is assumed that the new site will be dismantled after a while, but the architects themselves believe that their work may turn out to be more than durable: before their eyes is an example of the Eiffel Tower itself, which was built for one year, but remained in the center of Paris for the second hundred years …
UPD: The operating organization of the Eiffel Tower, La Societe d'Exploitation de la Tour Eiffel (SETE), declared its innocence to this project and noted the impossibility of even temporarily changing the appearance of the tower.
