Following the museum spaces, educational institutions are also striving for maximum openness and are gradually becoming part of the public life of the city. The Austrian architects considered it all the more important to convey the principles of transparency and active bilateral interaction with the outside world to future managers. The architectural solution proposed by the AllesWirdGut team for the school of professional management is designed to stimulate important social processes, to instill these skills, as they say, from a young age.
A relatively small five-storey building with an area of 5820 m2 is tightly blended into the rectangular perimeter of the block. Actually, it is the natural border of the most open building. The facade facing the street in the lower part has an almost continuous glazing front, so that there are no obstacles - neither physical nor visual - for visitors and even for bystanders: the building is absolutely transparent to the eye, right down to the green courtyard. Students also feel their involvement in city life in the same way.
Downstairs there is a two-level hall - a comfortable and bright public space. In a quiet courtyard, it - like a breakwater - crashes into a small trapezoidal ledge, on the roof of which there is an open terrace. In the upper part, starting from the third floor, there are classrooms. Their arrangement is clearly reflected on the facade in the form of a confused, irregular rhythm of transparent glass showcases. Thus, the inner life of the school is literally exposed to the entire city. On the opposite side, the classes also "open up" to public areas that provide a high level of internal communication. As a result, it is architectural techniques that become an effective, but unobtrusive tool for the formation of the necessary professional values.
