In October, the construction company Good Wood announced a competition for the best facade concept for its headquarters, the largest wooden office building in Russia - Good Wood Plaza. Initially, specialists from the Italian bureau MoDusArchitects, which specializes in architecture and wood interiors, were involved in the design. However, in the process of working on the project, the client and the architects could not come to a common opinion, which resulted in a competition open to professionals and students.
In total, the organizers received 22 entries. Based on the results of the peer review, which was carried out in two stages, 8 finalists were determined, whose projects were put up for voting in the Good Wood communities on social networks. In the end, Kirill Tikhonov, a young architect from Yaroslavl, became the winner: his work will set the direction for the further - detailed - development of the facade project.
The task of the participants was to draw attention to the supporting wooden structure, keeping all structural elements open and not hiding them with decor.
