Austrian experts have figured out how to achieve a healthy microclimate in a room and have developed innovative building materials that ionize the air. They will soon be available in Russia.
Healthy building is a common European trend. A person breathes in about 15,000 kg of air every day. In fact, it is a significant "food" for our body, no less important than food. Therefore, our health directly depends on the quality of the air in our house.
Aeroions are positively and negatively charged particles that are constantly formed during the splitting of gas molecules and atoms (air ionization). They usually occur in nature during an electrical discharge - for example, lightning, as well as near an open fire or near waterfalls, when a stream of water falls from a height, and air ions are formed due to friction against the air. You've probably noticed how easy it is to breathe after a thunderstorm? And what a crystal-clear air near the waterfall!
Famous Soviet scientist, biophysicist Alexander Chizhevsky called the air ions "vitamins of the air." He argued that the air, saturated with such useful particles, not only helps to maintain vigor and energy, but also allows you to prolong life. It is not for nothing that in some resorts located in nature, which are especially popular for their treatment programs, increased concentrations of air ions have been found. But in large industrial cities and in buildings crowded with people, on the contrary, they are extremely low.
If there are no air ions in the air, our body perceives this as a signal of alarm and danger to life. But the increased concentrations of these "vitamins" improve the protective functions of the body, have a positive effect on the cardiovascular, respiratory and nervous systems, help to better cope with many diseases, the Rospotrebnadzor experts explain.

Scientific discovery Baumit
Serious scientific research into the effect of air ions on human health prompted Baumit experts to develop a special wall covering that will improve indoor air and create a healthy microclimate. It was necessary to release a product that would create the effect of air ionization in an apartment or office. It took 5 years for development and testing. And so the company presented an innovation - Baumit Ionit finishing materials, the only wall covering of this kind that stimulates human health in the world.
It has been proven that the minerals contained in Baumit Ionit putty and wall paint saturate the air of the room with useful particles - by attracting air molecules, they turn them into air ions. The process proceeds naturally and does not require external influence.
Experts made these conclusions on the basis of data obtained after tests in
Baumit's VIVA Research Park, Europe's largest health impact analysis center for building materials. Several test houses were built in the park, where Baumit Ionit wall covering was used. The concentration of air ions was regularly measured here.
Experiments have shown that the average concentration of these useful particles in houses with Baumit Ionit finish is twice as high as without this coating. Moreover, even after 7 years, the innovative finish will ionize the air with the same intensity. Result: the active layer of air ions has a long-lasting effect and does not wear out.
Research at the University Hospital Freiburg (Germany) confirms the positive effect of Ionit. Experts have established: the use of Baumit Ionit coating led to a significant increase in the number of air ions in the room air (on average 8 142 ± 435 ions per cm³, while without the use of this material - only 451 ± 201 ions per cm³). This, in turn, activates the cells involved in the immune processes of the human body. In addition, measurements showed the absence of harmful substances, volatile organic compounds and even very fine dust. Air ions attach to dust microparticles in the air and settle on the floor so that a person does not inhale them.
