New York studio AE Superlab has unveiled its project called "The Halo" - an extreme attraction, coupled with a viewing platform. The height of the building will be 360 m - almost three times higher than the famous London Eye Ferris wheel, and the diameter will be 140 m. It is planned to be made of 17,000 tons of steel. Gondolas moving at different speeds will take visitors along 11 vertical routes to the upper part of the building, from where you can see all of New York. The speed of returning to the ground will vary depending on the individual preferences of the customers: they will either descend slowly at the same pace, or move in free fall mode at a speed of approximately 160 km / h. According to the authors of "The Halo", a New York attraction of this format will be the largest and fastest in the world. The client of the project is the construction company Brooklyn Capital Partners.

The surface of the cylinder is planned to be used as a large interactive screen, which will display weather forecasts, environmental information, online surveys on landscaping issues or sports results, for example, from the Madison Square Gardens arena, located just below the tower. Passers-by will be able to interact with many topics by leaving their feedback using mobile applications.

The authors call "The Halo" a high-tech version of the Eiffel Tower, which will also help turn Penn Station into a multifunctional hub, tourist attraction and economic development. The authors estimate that this structure will bring the city budget $ 1 billion in ticket sales. Since there is no need to lay a new foundation, all work is expected to be completed in a short time - within 20 months after receiving permission from the city authorities.
