In the suite of the Museum of Architecture. Shchusev on Thursday opens an exhibition of projects of one of the most successful Russian architectural bureaus ABD Architects, timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary. 20 architectural and 20 interior projects will show the creative path of the workshop from the very first realizations to the objects commissioned only recently. After Moscow, the exhibition will move to St. Petersburg and a number of other cities.
On the same day, the Spanish architect Jose Asebillo Marin, who has already come to Russia on several occasions, will deliver a lecture “Perestroika in the Glocal Context” at MUAR. “Glocalization” is a neologism that combines the concepts of “local” and “global”. The architect will talk about how to create an efficient and sustainable urban organism, taking into account these two aspects.
Another lecture will take place on September 14 at CSK Garage: journalist Artem Dezhurko continues his cycle about outstanding names in the history of design of the 20th century. This time we will talk about the Bauhaus workshop and the circle of architects and designers associated with it - Mies van der Rohe, Marcel Breuer, Joseph Hartwig, and others.
And at the ArtPlay Design Center on the Yauza, the Reliquary exhibition will start working under the curatorship of Yuri Avvakumov. Ilya Utkin, Yuri Grigoryan, Totan Kuzembaev, Sergei Tchoban and others will present their projects of “repositories of cultural sacred objects” within the framework of the IV Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art.
In Yekaterinburg on September 13, the annual international festival "The Hand of a Master" opens, the central event of which will be the presentation of the award of the same name to young architects, designers, engineers and journalists. The winners of the Facade 2011 virtual competition will also be announced at the festival.
In Yaroslavl from 13 to 17 September, the head of the Project Meganom bureau and the Strelka teacher Yuri Grigoryan will hold the Sense of the City workshop dedicated to the study of the Volzhskaya Embankment territory. The result will be a presentation of the sketches of the participants, in which they will outline their own perception of the central public space of Yaroslavl.
And finally, the IV Forum of Urban Planning, Architecture and Design "A. City 2011" will be held in St. Petersburg from 12 to 14 September in the format of an exhibition and conference. It will focus on the development of the so-called. urban development framework, i.e. systems of public and business, recreational, residential and natural areas that form a sustainable urban organism. The Forum invites architects, designers and builders to participate.
