The customer for a large office complex in the new area of Yizhuang was the Chinese national aircraft manufacturer AVIC, which is comparable in turnover to Boing and Airbus. The surrounding buildings are offices, hotels and industrial buildings of various types and sizes, with a significant presence of the information technology industry.
The gmp business center consists of 10 buildings located along the long sides of the ribbon-like section. The center has a park for recreation and communication of employees, and it also penetrates between buildings, where it forms "pockets" of green space.
The gate of the complex is an 80-meter tower with an adjoining building, inside which a three-story atrium is hidden. The rest of the buildings are connected by light colonnades and a low stylobate, where cafes, shops and conference rooms are arranged.
Clarity of the appearance of buildings is given by the division of the facades: each two are separated from the neighboring ones by illuminated at night "ribbons", and the vertical glass panels are delimited by strips of two lamellas flanking the "window", which can be used for ventilation.
AVIC will not occupy all of the 145,000 m2 of usable space in the business park, so the layout provides for a variety of fragmentation options for other tenants: from modest premises for start-ups to the "palaces" of large corporations. Also, variability increases the large number of entrances to buildings - from the park in the center of the complex and adjacent streets - that is, many tenants will receive their own lobbies.
