The award ceremony took place on the last day of the XXIV International Zodchestvo Festival on the territory of the Trekhgornaya Manufactory. Due to the excessively long list of laureates, the awarding ceremony, like last year, was held in two stages. The first took place on October 17, the second and most solemn - on October 20. Despite this, on the last day of the festival, its heroes took the stage without interruption for more than three hours. And this is understandable, because the results of ten thematic contests were announced, nine regions of the Russian Federation presented their expositions, and a total of about 450 works and more than ten special projects were shown in two buildings of the manufactory. As part of the business program, over 140 meetings, lectures and discussions were held, which over the seven days of the festival were attended by over 20 thousand guests.
Daedalus
The protagonist of Zodchestvo and the owner of the Crystal Daedalus was Sergey Gnedovsky's bureau Architecture and Cultural Policy of PNKB. The state military-historical and natural museum-reserve "Kulikovo Pole" realized by this workshop was recognized as the best building. Gnedovsky admitted that it was an extremely difficult job: “We were faced with the task of creating a metaphor for a grandiose event, but at the same time refraining from literature, unnecessary and unnecessary associations. We tried to create an object that would not disturb the magnificent space of the Kulikovo field, would not interfere with the landscape that opens from the observation deck."
Kulikovo Pole is the main exhibit of a museum built in the Tula Region, at the mouth of the Smolka River. Therefore, the building itself against its background in every possible way tries to disguise itself, not to give itself out. When viewed from Red Hill, it is hidden by the relief and looks like a mound or a green hill, to the top of which a white staircase leads. There is an observation deck there. Below the "hill" is cut in two by a wide path leading to the entrance. The area of the new exposition is 2000 m², another 300 m² is reserved for temporary exhibitions. The jury noted that the authors managed not to disturb the natural landscape of the reserve and make the new museum complex a harmonious addition to it.
Buildings: Gold
Gold among the buildings was received by the IFC on Polezhaevskaya under the name "Good!" This four-story glass and metal complex opened just recently in September. It was built on Khoroshevskoe highway, on the site of the former industrial zone. The authors from the IQ design bureau were pleased to note that several years ago this work had already received an award - a silver festival badge in the "Projects" section. Now the complex is marked with gold as one of the best realizations.
Another highest award went to the St. Petersburg workshop Zemtsov, Kondiain and Partners. According to their project, a large residential complex "Smolny Park" was built, which was noted by the jury as one of the most powerful works presented at this festival. The Golden Badge in the category "Restoration and Reconstruction" was awarded to the design institute "Kostromaproekt" for the restoration of the railway station in Rybinsk. Presenting the award to the authors of the project, Viktor Logvinov said that in the entire history of Zodchestvo this was the first award that went to Rybinsk.
Buildings: Silver
Five buildings received silver awards at once. Among them there is a multifunctional complex with apartments"
Actor Galaxy”in Sochi and the Atlantic Apartments complex on Mozhaisky Val in Moscow, built by SPEECH. The Sochi complex with asymmetric ledges, French windows and faceted facades made of natural stone includes one hundred thirty-six apartments.
Other silver medalists are the Orange Fitness sports club in Nizhnekamsk by Ilya Safiullin, a residential building built in Ufa by Yulia Musina and Alexander Safarov, and a private country house
Hampton house by Roman Leonidov. In the “Best Foreign Building” nomination, the CA diploma was awarded to the architect Narek Sargsyan for the government complex in Yerevan.
Tatlin
In the "Projects" section, the Grand Prix - "Vladimir Tatlin Prize" - was awarded to the loft-style apartments"
Dawn 3.34”, designed by the DNA workshop ag. The project was noted as an example of high-quality and delicate work with an industrial area. The architects divided the long facade of the factory building visually into six parts, which makes it more like a cozy city street. Thus, preserving the individual character of the building, it was possible to create an urban environment on a human scale.
Designs: gold and silver
The traditionally generous jury of the festival in the "Projects" section this year presented three gold diplomas, not counting the owners of "Tatlin". One went to Maxim Lyubetsky for the project
houses for young families in Sochi, another - to the architectural bureau Plan_B, which presented the project "Usadba_OSTROV" in the Yaroslavl region. Nikita Yavein's Studio 44 received gold for the project of the Museum of Science and Technology in Tomsk. The jury liked the way the authors work with such traditional material as wood. It is unique that in this case wood becomes the main material for the construction of a large public and cultural facility. Nikita Yavein explained that after going through many approvals and receiving many certificates, their workshop has set a precedent that opens up a new future for wood construction in our country. Another diploma, this time a silver one, was awarded to Nikita Yavein for the project of a residential building on Chapaeva Street in St. Petersburg.
Also, the IFC with apartments in Moscow in Beregovoy Proezd was awarded with silver diplomas - the work of the Ingrad Project company, the concept of reconstruction of a sports and recreation complex with a hotel
Golden Tulip in Moscow region, developed by ArchGroup bureau under the leadership of Alexey Goryainov, Zhukov-21 business center, designed by Alliance Bureau. A group of young architects from JSB "Archslon" was awarded for the serial project of individual residential buildings.
Beautification
Improvement projects were noted separately this year. There was no gold in this nomination, but silver was awarded to the Lengiprogor institute for the improvement of the embankment along the shore of the Saki medicinal lake in Crimea, as well as to the Giprokommundotrans institute, which developed the design of the Romanovsky square with a two-level underground parking in Voronezh. The design organization NPO Vector, together with NRU MGSU, received a gold badge in the Local Projects nomination for the creation of a unified recreational space, Park Yauza.
Reputation
The Sergey Kiselev Prize was presented two days earlier, at the awards ceremony on October 17. Among all the bureaus announced this year, the most worthy, according to the jury, was the workshop of Mikhail Khazanov and Mikhail Davidovich himself. ***
Urban planning
In the review-competition "Urban Planning" in different sections and nominations, one way or another, almost all expositions of the regions were noted. Rostov, where the largest linear agglomeration is being formed, and Yekaterinburg, which demonstrated the effectiveness of interaction with the population with specific examples, received silver badges. Voronezh took both gold and silver. Krasnoyarsk, which has preserved almost the entire city center from multi-storey buildings, consisting of several islands in the channel of the Yenisei, including the green coastline; Khabarovsk, which showed the development of its city; as well as Komsomolsk-on-Amur and Moscow received SA diplomas.
The Yakutia stand, which covered the largest projects implemented in the region over the past two years, was awarded the golden sign in the "Spatial Development Policy" section. The Olonkho Land complex presented in the exposition was especially noted as a convincing attempt to create a project that would take into account the national characteristics and culture of Yakutia. When receiving the awards, representatives of Yakutia said that their main task was to preserve their identity.
In the new nomination of the festival “Regions - the best in architectural and urban planning practice”, the expositions of Yekaterinburg and Krasnoyarsk were awarded a golden sign. Silver in this section went to Moscow and the Moscow region.
Collectives
The workshop of PTAM Vissarionov was recognized as the best design organization of this year. Yuri Vissarionov and Konstantin Savkin took the stage together with the young designers of their bureau, and Andrei Gnezdilov, who presented the gold badge and diploma, noted that this award should have long been in the hands of one of the oldest workshops in Moscow. On the contrary, the young team from Yekaterinburg “OSA” got the silver in this nomination.
Sustainable architecture
Another traditional review competition "Eco-Sustainable Architecture" selected the winners among 12 works by university students and groups of authors from Moscow, Kostroma, Ufa, Voronezh and Vladivostok. The highest award was given to Daria Burdina for the project of renovating the living environment of the Rybokombinat village on Popov Island in the Primorsky Territory.
Curators
Curators of special projects presented at the festival also received their awards. And the result of the ceremony was summed up by Andrey Asadov, who, together with his brother Nikita, has been in charge of Zodchestvo for several years now, which has managed to change significantly during this time.
Andrey Asadov:
“We are very glad that we managed to turn the festival into a real instrument for the development of the territory, to make it a response and continuation of the theme“Architecture and new industries as a driver of urban development”announced last year. Trekhgornaya Manufactory has become a continuation of the global trend of transforming industrial zones into new points of economic growth. The extensive exhibition and business programs covered such topics as the renovation of industrial zones, a comfortable urban environment, social and cultural centers of a new type, a new life of the architectural heritage and the skills required for an architect in the modern world. We see the next step in the development of the festival already in the format of the architectural forum of the country's spatial development. The format of the forum will allow Zodchestvo to become an activator of territories and an impetus for the development of not only a single site, but also other similar spaces on a national scale."
