The SOM project Talan Towers has won one of six nominations for the Pinnacle Award of Excellence, which is awarded annually to the best objects using natural stone.

Talan Towers, which we already wrote about, won an award in the category "Exterior of a commercial building" for its marble finish. Facades of the building are solved in golden-beige Jurassic marble Maxberg, 15,000 m2 which were produced by the Solnhofen Stone Group.

Talan Towers has become one of those skyscrapers that have changed the face of Astana. Bureau SOM, whose track record is the tallest building in the world - Dubai's Burj Khalifa, designed a "marble" skyscraper in the capital of Kazakhstan from two main volumes: towers with a height of 26 and 30 floors. They are united by a flat three-story "podium" in the form of a parallelepipid on high columns.

Talan Towers' key tenant is the Ritz-Carlton hotel chain. The complex will also include non-hotel apartments, a business center, fitness room, spa, boutiques and restaurants.
