Since 2017, the Red Roofs company has expanded the range of clinker tiles: to the well-proven German ABC Klinkergruppe tiles, products from Spain have been added - La Escandella.
La Escandella company dates back to 1964. More than half a century ago, a small enterprise for the production of roofing materials was opened in Spain. Today it is a huge corporation with the world's largest manufacturing facilities. The company has several of its own factories, modern equipment and fully automated production, which guarantees the ideal quality and durability of its products.
Clinker tiles La Escandella are considered one of the most popular and demanded roofing materials in Europe. The oldest tile roofing has not lost its leadership positions there today, since none of the modern roofing materials could surpass it - neither in terms of technical characteristics, nor in terms of service life, nor in aesthetic indicators. In Russia, with a harsh cold climate and sharp temperature changes, shingles have never been as popular as in Europe. But today, the Russian consumer is increasingly making a choice in favor of this material, which has been specially improved for use in cold countries.
The Spanish clinker tile La Escandella, produced at the plant in Alicante, is perhaps the most ideal option for the harsh climatic conditions of Russia. It is made from refractory types of clay and fired at a temperature of 1200 ° C, which is higher than the standard adopted in our country - 1080 ° C. This ensures better baking of the clay, as a result of which the water absorption of the material does not exceed 3%. Thanks to this, it is possible to achieve a special strength of the material, resistant to any weathering. Moreover, the new European standard for frost resistance corresponds to both the unglazed tile La Escandella and the tile with glaze. In addition, the material has excellent thermal insulation properties, retaining heat in cold weather and preventing the roof from heating up in summer. Firing is carried out in a 120 m long tunnel kiln, which guarantees the preservation of the geometric shape and color of the tiles.
The strength of the material made it possible to make the product thinner and less material-intensive. The manufacturer managed to significantly reduce the weight of the tiles without losing quality and thereby achieve a reduction in the total cost of the product due to savings in logistics costs and energy costs for production. It is important to note that the thinning of the tiles did not affect their sound insulation properties. On the contrary, the level of sound insulation of this material is practically unparalleled among all existing brands.
Another feature of the production of La Escandella tiles is a very fine grinding of clay (fraction of 0.02 mm, while for most manufacturers this figure is on average 0.4 mm). This factor significantly affects the quality and aesthetic characteristics of the product, and in addition, it allows you to extend the life of the ceramic roof by several decades.
The wide range of colors of the material includes more than 20 shades. Moreover, all Spanish tiles are made without the use of dyes. The variety of shades presented in the company's collections is achieved through the use of various types of clays. Natural colors do not fade in the sun, do not fade, keeping the appearance of the roof unchanged over time. Among other things, the elimination of chemical dyes makes the material absolutely environmentally friendly.
On the Russian market, the Red Roofs company presents the widest collection of this clinker tile with a wide variety of models: Dutch tile profile with a classic, traditional design; minimalistic flat tiles; a modernist version of the Marseilles roof tiles; versatile polka profile that can complement both classical and modern architecture.
The La Escandella plant in Alicante produces the original Planum flat roof tiles, reminiscent of the multicolored American slate. Previously, such a tile had multiple restrictions on its use in our country. Today, all restrictions have been completely removed, and the characteristics of the material are recognized as ideal for the Russian climate. A distinctive feature of this series is a perfectly flat surface. The convenient size and laconic design of the tiles make the installation process easier and faster. The colors can be different, close to the natural shades of slate. For example, the Blackstone model with its characteristic black slate embossing is very popular. The artificially aged tile covering also looks interesting - a kind of trend in recent years. All models can be equipped with two types of ridge: the traditional round and the flat corner, which is currently produced only by the Spanish brand La Escandella.
For several decades, La Escandella has been successfully operating in more than 70 countries around the world and enjoys great consumer confidence, thanks to constant product improvement, expansion and renewal of collections, the use of technical innovations and the most daring solutions that can bring any architectural idea to life. Today, the largest collection of tiles in the world market is available in our country, thanks to the Red Roofs company.
