This is a community center that should educate residents of all ages and tastes to lead a healthy and active lifestyle. In one building, the functions of a public center proper, an exhibition and theater complex, a playground, and a health care facility will be combined. The House of Culture and Movement (aka Ku-Be - from its Danish name Kultur-og Bevægelseshus) will be the first of three buildings of the city government's program (the second will become its clone, the third will be a commercial project) They will be placed in a new 4,500 m2 park surrounded by “the city curtain”. This permeable fence can serve as a base for installations, bicycle parking, and a backdrop for theatrical performances.
Ku-Be is a glass rectangle containing seven volumes with different functional areas inside. This is a theater, a health section and a food area, a zen area, an educational center and an exhibition hall, a fitness center, another "health center", as well as administrative premises. The space between them can be used as a "play area" for various events. The theater hall can be transformed depending on the type of performance, in addition, its huge panoramic window allows it to be used as a summer theater, with spectators sitting in the open air.
The surrounding park, designed in collaboration with SLA landscape architects, is divided into a performance area, an active and health area, and a quiet area. The park, the “city curtain” and the House of Culture and Movement-1 constitute the first phase of the project: its budget is 17 million euros, the implementation date is 2015.
