Novo Nordisk is the world leader in diabetes pharmaceutical products. The company, whose history goes back almost 90 years, has set up its headquarters in an ascetic building of the 14th century - once there was a farm, famous for the fact that insulin was synthesized from the pancreas of a cow for the first time in the world.
SeARCH was tasked with designing a new building as a visual continuation and addition to the historical volume. The architects took this task literally: the building they created literally sprouts from the side facade of the former farm. However, this does not mean that it is stylized as a medieval building - on the contrary, the new volume has been given an emphatically modern geometry, and the multi-pitched roofs, like the facades, are faced with a “graphic” wooden lath. The first floor of the complex is fully glazed.
The building, which is officially called the conference center, in addition to rooms for conferences and scientific meetings, also has several meeting rooms and offices, a restaurant, a fitness club and several hotel rooms.
