The Actelion Business Center is the company's headquarters located on its Alshville campus. Its K- and X-shaped steel truss supporting structure supports six “modular” floors; their almost chaotic composition is reminiscent of some other recent buildings by the architects, in particular the VitraHouse.
The plan of each tier is different from the others; it is made up of several types of modules: an office for one or two employees, or open-plan areas. However, in the four corners of the building there are zones connecting all floors vertically with elevators and stairs, as well as meeting rooms, kitchens, etc. people, a dining room for 230 employees, a cafe and meeting rooms, as well as space for various events.
The facades and internal partitions of the building are characterized by transparency; however, this will not affect its energy efficiency: triple glazing combined with an automatic shutter system will protect the interiors from overheating. The roofs of the upper floors are landscaped: in sunny areas - with prairie grasses, which retain their red color throughout the winter, in the shade - with more unpretentious plants.
