The pavilion will be erected in 2010 in Munich, behind the building of the National Theater. Its opening will be timed to coincide with the next Munich Opera Festival, and then he will travel to Germany and Europe as a symbol of the creative activity of the Bavarian Statsoper and "the combination of theater and architecture."
Wolf D. Prix presented this project at this year's Under Construction festival. As part of a discussion program entitled “The Principle of Opera Transformation and Its Interaction with Contemporary Theater Architecture and Urban Architecture,” the architect made a presentation on art, music and architecture. He devoted his speech to the problems of perception of architecture and space, issues of aesthetics and sustainable development. According to Prix, a building should not be a “box isolated from its surroundings,” but should generate energy through its shape, and in its image show the image of the society of the future. He denounced the soulless architecture prevailing now, which promises a lot with the help of vivid visualizations - and does not actually accomplish anything.
