Due to the observance of these characteristics, such an engineering board is called anti-deformation. Advantages and features of the engineered board

Engineered board has obvious advantages over classic parquet:

  • Possibility of installation directly on the screed, due to the presence of the base at the board of a multilayer plywood layer
  • Stability to changes in temperature and humidity indicators
  • The ability to lay the engineered board on heated floors with uniform heating no higher than 26 degrees

Parquet board is considered a finished product, without the possibility of taking into account the individual wishes of the buyer. The cost of a single-strip parquet board is significantly higher than the average cost of an engineering structure. In addition, an engineering board is a product made of natural wood, which implies the following features in operation:

  • The board does not conduct heat well, therefore, when installing on a warm floor system, it is necessary to give preference to the minimum thickness. But at the same time, natural wood itself is warm and pleasant to the touch.
  • The engineered board should not be installed in damp and unheated rooms.
  • Even with increased wear resistance of the flooring, precautionary rules should be observed. Do not leave spilled liquid on the surface, secure the furniture legs with special pads, avoid dropping heavy objects.

Features of laying parquet and engineered boards

Natural wood flooring can be installed in several ways. Using the glue method and the tongue-and-groove connection, the floor covering is mounted directly on the base or on the plywood flooring. Before starting the installation, the base is sanded, primed to ensure moisture insulation and to avoid surface looseness. After that, the engineering board is glued to the screed, this method is less expensive. Engineered board, like solid parquet, can be mounted on a plywood base if it is necessary to increase the floor height or additional heat and sound insulation. When using the floating method of installation with a lock, the flooring is laid on the sub-base. When choosing a substrate, technical features of the base are also taken into account.

Prepare the premises before laying the engineered board and parquet flooring. All finishing and plastering work must be completed. Before starting installation, engineering, solid board, parquet board must be in the conditions of the installation room in the manufacturer's packaging for at least 3-5 days. The relative humidity in the room should be within 45-60%. The optimum temperature range is from 16 to 24 degrees.
