ARCHICAD 23 beta testers reviews
About performance
“The update of drawings for Views, which, due to their large size, are divided into several fragments in the Layout, has significantly accelerated. If earlier the update required rebuilding the entire View (for example, the plan) several times for each fragment, now only what is displayed in a specific fragment of the View is rebuilt."
Egor Zakharov, CJSC PIRS Institute
About Column and Beam tools
"Fine! We have new opportunities. It became easier to create and control complex structures. Previously, we modeled complex structures with morphs, but now columns can be modeled with columns, beams with beams. It is convenient for working and transferring the model to IFC."
Sergey Gromov, bureau SPEECH
“The tools have become much more flexible, the appearance of the elements can be as close as possible to their real form. Also, with the help of these tools it is now much easier to create decorative elements of facades and interiors."
Egor Zakharov, CJSC PIRS Institute
About the Hole tool
“The new tool is a response to a long-standing user request that utility openings are a separate element type and that it is fundamentally wrong to model them with empty window or door openings. I was very pleased with the ability to create one hole that cuts several structures, and the automatic creation of holes at the intersection of selected elements and structures with the ability to adjust the gap.
This tool will be especially useful when creating models of unique structures, where each floor is individual, modules are not used, and the level of OPEN BIM interaction has reached a high level, and the architect receives a three-dimensional model of engineering networks."
Egor Zakharov, CJSC PIRS Institute
“We've been waiting for such a tool for a long time. It's good that one object can show a whole chain of holes in the walls along the route; it would be helpful to have the holes automatically denoted in the section. There was a lack of tools, at all design stages we came up with various tricks, and now at the concept stage it is possible to show mines taking them into account when calculating the total area, it is possible to better control the job assignments for holes and the entire process of issuing taxiways, as well as to specify holes”.

About Properties in Building Materials
“This is another step towards controlling the volume of materials and the cost of the project. Even more freedom with material counting. You can more flexibly customize spreadsheets for specifications."
Sergey Gromov, bureau SPEECH
“Custom properties in building materials greatly expand the granularity of describing those materials. Now we are not limited to the standard set of parameters (ID, Name, Manufacturer, Description) and a set of physical properties. We would like to see the custom properties of building materials at the element level interact with the parameters of this element in the formulas - so, for example, that by multiplying the density of the material by the volume of the element, we would get its weight."
