Over the past 4 years, the "Green Project" has gained strength and is now an effective means of introducing many participants in the architectural and construction industry to such an important and promising direction in architecture, construction and urban planning as Sustainability and Energy Efficiency.

Every year the Festival demonstrates that more and more specialists and companies in the industry are striving to share their best practices and achievements in the field of "green" construction with a wide audience, to show their involvement in the processes that deeply affect the entire progressive world community today. On the other hand, from year to year the organizers have to raise the requirements for the quality and content of architectural and design projects exhibited at the Festival.

Perhaps due to the fact that in the preparation of each "Green Project", the emphasis is invariably placed on the importance of introducing a "green" worldview into the field of specialized education, the Festival as a whole has become noticeably younger. Today, before our very eyes, a new generation of architecture and construction is coming to the fore - young professionals, initially focused on promoting "green" ideas in all spheres of social activity. This year, students from 25 specialized universities of the Russian Federation took part in the festival. The exhibition presented projects of students of the Belarusian National Technical University, Milan Polytechnic University (Italy) and student conceptual projects to create a barrier-free environment from the Center for Innovation and Architecture of Sustainable Cities L'Ecole de design Nantes (France).

The Festival hosted a block of seminars from the Moscow State Construction University (MGSU) and the Kazan State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering: a seminar "Ecoarchitecture and ecological settlements"; discussion club "Basic strategies for sustainable development of settlements"; seminar "Questions of aerodynamics and microclimate in the formation of a biosphere-compatible environment for settlements"; seminar "Eco-branding as a factor of sustainable development of a small town on the example of the city of Kuldiga (Latvia)"; seminar "The role of environmental education in the formation and development of ecovillage"; seminar "Experience of successful development of ecological settlement on the example of ecological valley" New Vraja Dhama "in Hungary", discussion club "Basic strategies for sustainable development of settlements", FSBEI HPE "MGSU", FSBEI HPE "KGASU" and other conferences and master classes.

Next year the Green Project will celebrate its 5th anniversary. The organizers attach special importance to this significant date, especially since the Green Project festival is already included in the event plan and will be held under the auspices of the Russia-EU Year of Science and Education 2014, established by the European Union and Russia! There is every reason to believe that the "Green Project 2014" will become a noticeable event not only in the scientific life of our country, but also in the states of the European Community.
