On November 29-30, the third festival of innovative technologies in construction and architecture "Green Project" took place in Moscow. Knauf company for the third time supported this event, once again becoming its general partner.

Leonid Los, PR director of the KNAUF CIS group, made a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony of the festival. He noted that the KNAUF group stood at the origins of the festival, which is important for the company to support projects and initiatives in the field of sustainable architecture and construction. Knauf holds its own events, involving a wide variety of professionals and enthusiasts of green building. In the time interval between the second and third festivals, KNAUF, together with the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering, held an international symposium and competitions for young researchers and student architectural projects, united by a common theme of innovations in construction and architecture.

The most interesting for professionals was the round table "Practice of" green "construction in Russia", organized by Knauf in the framework of the conference "How to turn" green "ideas into reality". The call to turn green ideas into reality has become the motto of the festival this year.

The moderators of the round table were Andrey Bagaturia, General Director of Architect Business Group, and JörgLange, President of the Club of German Architects and Engineers in Moscow, Marketing Director of the Knauf CIS Group. The presenters proposed their own system for evaluating the projects presented by the participants of the round table, taking into account 6 criteria: energy efficiency and energy saving, weight of structures, utilization, construction costs, operating costs and alternative sources of energy supply. The main task of the round table, according to Andrey Bagaturia, is live communication, when, using professional accessible vocabulary, the participants discuss what is really important.

Tatiana Shulga, head of the design bureau of the Institute of Construction and Architecture, MGSU, spoke about the creation of a unique social condominium for Toronto residents. The future of Russian "green" construction was presented by Veronika Efimochkina, a 6th year student of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of MGSU. Peter Eichberger, architectural bureau Pasmos ZT GmbH, focused on the certification of buildings according to DGNB standards. The Knauf Group was represented by three leading experts who spoke about different projects.

Leonid Los now, as a speaker, he spoke about the responsible attitude to natural resources and the use of recyclable materials for the production of building materials. The building materials used in the construction of the facility, the environmental safety of their production, operation and disposal make a significant contribution to the final rating assessment of the building's environmental sustainability. Gypsum building finishing materials in this regard are one of the most effective. For example, energy consumption for gypsum production is 3.5 times lower than for Portland cement. The energy efficiency of production saves valuable energy resources. The non-explosive technology of gypsum stone mining provides a high level of environmental friendliness of production. Modern equipment and rational organization of production reduce losses and reduce the burden on nature in the production process. Innovative materials make it possible to solve complex construction problems simply and quickly, replacing traditional multicomponent solutions. X-ray protection, fire resistance, sound insulation, acoustic comfort are achievable today thanks to Knauf materials much easier than before.

Specialist of the Directorate for Strategic Development of the Knauf CIS Group, Candidate of Technical Sciences Konstantin Losev told about the construction of a village for employees of the production enterprise KNAUF GIPS Baikal. As the head of this project, he noted that the tight construction time and difficult climatic conditions of the Novonukutsk district of the Irkutsk region did not prevent the construction of a whole microdistrict of environmentally friendly and energy efficient houses that set a completely new standard of living in this area.

And here the most important thing is that Knauf, realizing the importance of providing its new production with qualified personnel (attracting from other regions), went to a landmark precedent in Russia: the initiation of the construction of housing - an entire microdistrict - taking into account the requirements of Green Building (green building).

The third report of the Knauf company at the round table and the topic for discussion were proposed by the Knauf-Penoplast division. Marketing Specialist Manaeva Yulia spoke in detail about the successful 40-year-old application of expanded polystyrene in Europe at municipal, private and road construction sites; about the importance of expanded polystyrene material in the program to reduce heating costs, adopted in Germany in the distant 80s against the backdrop of the energy crisis. Over these 3 decades, European technologies of energy saving and production of building materials "for them", including the range of expanded polystyrene, have undergone significant changes. Materials of different thicknesses and different surface textures appeared for different insulation systems, and the production of expanded polystyrene itself began to be certified according to environmental principles, which complies with the European convention on environmental protection.
