BIM PROJECT 2018 - how was it?

Last year, more than 90 projects were submitted to the 2018 competition, of which 16 were shortlisted. The most active in terms of the number of submitted works were the Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture (Simferopol), Southern Federal University (Rostov-on-Don) and Samara State Technical University.

The selection criteria for the three finalists were the level of architecture and graphic presentation, as well as the effective use of BIM tools from GRAPHISOFT, based on the principles of information modeling. The jury paid close attention to the quality and detail of the digital models of the competition projects.

“… The transition to BIM-design prompted many architectural firms to switch to ARCHICAD, which I am incredibly happy about, because I have been working in this program for more than five years, from the very beginning of my studies at the university. In addition, they were interested in the terms of the competition, namely the evaluation of the working file in which the project was developed. I was immediately curious how my use of ARCHICAD could be judged by the jury. “- Anastasia Kholyavko, winner of BIM PROJECT 2018 in the“Multi-apartment residential building”nomination.

“… First of all, it is an opportunity to prove yourself when working with such a modern approach to design as BIM, as well as to receive professional criticism from leading experts in this field. I was also attracted by the opportunity to compare my approaches with the methods of work of other participants in the competition. - Timur Kaslandzia, winner of BIM PROJECT 2018 in the “Public building” nomination.
