Ecodesign has been a global trend for many years, and resource conservation strategy has been a good form in the architectural community. Recently it became known that in the legendary Empire State Building in New York, all 6.5 thousand window blocks were replaced in order to improve energy efficiency. Now the "imperial" skyscraper has received the "gold" LEED certification.

Golden Dream Bay Moshe Safdie or 8 House project by BIG. However, often we are talking only about residential complexes. But the architects of the Singaporean firm WOHA went even further: they decided to design the "eco-skyscraper" Oasia Downtown, which will surely become an alternative to the established image of commercial real estate and an example of innovative land use. It will house a luxury hotel and offices.
In February 2012, the construction of a 30-storey tower with a height of more than 206 m began on a site with an area of slightly more than 2 thousand m2 in the dense development of the Singapore City. The total area of the object will be almost 20 thousand m2. A skyscraper with multiple openings and structural cutouts consists of several "layers", each of which is equipped with a "green" area - a kind of city-scale square. The facades of the building are actually solid green planes, on which climbing and flowering plants feel great. Openings are needed not only for visual permeability: thanks to them, natural ventilation is carried out. This is facilitated by high-volume low-speed fans (HVLS), reminiscent of kinetic sculptures. High-rise squares - and these will be public spaces of a wide functional spectrum - are perceived as comfortable, well-lit tropical oases.
Whether the innovation will take root or not will become clear by April 2014: it is then that the builders plan to commission the facility. In any case, investors have already voted for the blooming tower with their own funds: the budget for the Oasia Downtown project is $ 100 million.
