Karosta is a city located 10 km north of the city of Liepaja in Latvia, which served as the base of the Russian Empire's navy. In Soviet times, Karosta was a closed territory, where access was prohibited even to civilians from Liepaja. After Latvia regained its independence in 1990, the Soviet military left the city, as a result of which the population declined and many buildings were abandoned.

How to bring the former Soviet military town back to life and make it attractive in the eyes of tourists? The organizers of the Ghost Town contest seem to know the answer to this question. It is necessary to create a multifunctional complex, including a museum, library, conference center, shopping area and restaurant.

During the construction boom on the island of Tenerife in Spain, the construction of a huge number of residential buildings began, which now turned out to be unnecessary to anyone. The organizers of the competition figured out what to do with these unfinished dwellings -

When you mention Switzerland, the first thing that comes to mind is an accurate watch, a reliable banking system and the famous chocolate. However, the rich cultural heritage of this country should not be overlooked. There are many museums in Basel and sometimes it is quite difficult for tourists to navigate the program offered by the museums. Therefore, it was proposed to hold a competition for

the concept of the Pavilion of Culture. It is supposed that in it visitors will be able to find out what awaits them in each of the museums and organize their visit. There are two separate categories in the competition: for students and young architects.

The area of El Madrid de los Austrias in the Spanish capital is a place where many events, festivals and other urban “activities” take place, so proper planning of the environment and public spaces is very important. In addition, there is a lack of a communication center designed for all categories of residents of the region, including the elderly and visitors from other countries. It should be borne in mind that there used to be a sports center with a swimming pool, which is sorely lacking for the inhabitants of El Madrid de los Austrias today.
