The fountain, which is the heart of the Great Rose Garden, has long been in need of renovation. As part of the reconstruction, a modern engineering system was installed, new fountain equipment was installed, the sides of the bowl were rebuilt, and the paving of the fountain square was completely replaced. The water picture of the fountain has also changed - now the pattern of its jets repeats the shape of the famous Pont-a-Mousson bridge from the Saint-Gobain logo.
Construction and waterproofing works on the fountain were carried out with the use of Saint-Gobain materials (TM Weber-Vetonit), which made it possible to significantly reduce the time of reconstruction, while guaranteeing its high quality.
The opening ceremony of the fountain was stylized in the spirit of Versailles during the time of King Louis XIV, who founded the Saint-Gobain company in 1665 by signing a patent letter for the creation of the Royal Mirror Manufactory.
