Lumon glazing successfully travels on the waters of the Moskva River. The project was completed in 2008. But right now it is interesting to write about it, since 9 years have passed since the installation. All 9 years the system has been working flawlessly on a motor ship, which is not always possible for the glazing systems of competitors, even on land.

So, in the fall of 2008, the two-year reconstruction of the Hungarian double-deck cruise ship "Sviyaga" (in the later version "Alexander Shemagin") was completed.

From the docks in Gorodets, a vessel under the new name "Swallow-2" arrived at the Moskva River and moored at the Luzhnetskaya embankment.
Externally, the ship is stylized as a Russian cruise ship of the early 20th century, so romantically presented in the film "Cruel Romance" by Nikita Mikhalkov. The stylized impeller, vibrant colors and natural materials in the finish refer us to the days of the pre-revolutionary heyday of Russian industrialists. The cabins, banquet rooms in the new version, are finished with natural materials, furnished with wicker furniture, decorated with painted ceilings. A magnificent staircase connects the decks. The upper deck is designed as a veranda with a gorgeous view of Moscow. It is about her that will be discussed in this essay.
Why is cold deck glazing needed? Imagine the capital in summer: heat, sun, hot asphalt and concrete, stuffy air filled with exhaust gases. You climb the ladder aboard the motor ship, follow to the top and sit in the shade, among the palm trees. The wet river breeze brings relief. The motor ship sways gently on the waves. All around there are wonderful views of the green Sparrow Hills; on the other side, the outline of Luzhnikov looms in the haze. The metro bridge in the distance reminds of the bustling metropolitan life. And you are on the upper deck, where there is silence, a lot of light and fresh air …
But back to reality: wicker furniture, wood decks and textiles need protection from precipitation in both summer and winter. Therefore, even at the stage of reconstruction of the yacht, the customer installed frameless sliding glazing Lumon. The impeccable design corresponds to the status of the project, fits into the interior design and fully meets the goals: protection from precipitation and wind. Tempered glass shines with a brilliant shine in the light of the lanterns. It is not noticeable during the day.
I repeat: "Lastochka" is not an imitation of a motor ship, but a working ship that regularly makes walks along the Moskva River. For example, during the magnificent, spectacular fireworks festival in Maryino, the ship, along with other river vessels, took one of the best places in the water area. The guests of "Swallow", sitting in comfortable armchairs, admired the colored lights in the sky. The closed glass walls did not limit the view by frames, the sky was completely open to the view, but the cool evening breeze, threatening colds, did not penetrate the deck.
