To the leadership of the Union of Architects of Russia (CAP)

Dear colleagues!
According to the information posted on the website of the All-Russian Popular Front, the Union of Architects of Russia joined the ONF at number 35. According to the President of the SAR A. Bokov, the Union did not join the ONF, but the Board of the SAR is going to discuss this issue at the plenum. Regardless of whether it happened or not, we consider the participation of the Union of Architects, a professional organization, in political activities to be illegal. The union was formed on a professional basis, and not on the basis of the political predilections of its members, and should unite architects with different political views. We believe that the professional activity of an architect (as well as a doctor, a lawyer) should be free from a political component. Joining one or another political organization is a personal matter for every architect, as a citizen, not a professional. The confusion of professional and political activities is contrary to the ethical norms of the architectural workshop, which the Union is called upon to defend.
We call on the CAP Board not to make decisions on the CAP joining the ONF.
