In order to determine the legality of the decision taken on the Union's entry into the All-Russian Popular Front, I was not too lazy to read the charter of the CAP and in its third section, which defines the rights and obligations of the organization, I found a clause establishing the Union's right: - “Together with various commercial and non-commercial organizations, create associations (unions), enter into already created associations (unions)”. However, the ONF is neither an association nor a union, but a purely political organization (front), designed to play its assigned role in the upcoming election campaign for the elections to the State Duma and the President of Russia. The SAR charter does not imply such a thing in any way. And although in its first section there is clause 1. 6., stating that "the Union is not responsible for the obligations of its members, as well as the members of the Union are not responsible for the obligations of the Union" and, thus, Evgeny Ass can consider himself free from membership in the ONF, the very introduction of the creative union to the political front is illegitimate.

I have been a member of the SAR (SA of the USSR) since 1954 and I remember various actions of political content, to which, in one way or another, our creative Union was involved in Soviet times. All this began in the 1920s, and the persecution of Leonidov and Melnikov was accompanied by political phraseology. And the "Trial of Honor" over Arkin, Bylinkin and Bunin, held in 1947 and accusing the authors of the publication on Soviet architecture in the magazine "Architectural Review" of antipatriotic act, was also politically engaged. A year later, while still a fourth-year student, I was in the hall of the Central House of Artists for all four days of discussion devoted to the discussion of the resolution of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks on Muradeli's opera Great Friendship. How many empty political chatter there was! Look through the "Architecture of the USSR" of the 50s - 80s and in almost every text you will find political “curtsies” addressed to the party and the government.

I would not like to return to this. Let's go about our business. In addition, no one is prohibited from personally joining the ranks of the All-Russian Popular Front, as well as casting their vote in the upcoming elections in accordance with personal preferences.
