Dear colleagues!
I appeal to the honorary presidents of the SA of Russia Yuri Gnedovsky and Andrei Bokov, to the current president of the CAP and AU Nikolai Shumakov, to the ex-president of the RAASN Alexander Kudryavtsev and the current president to Alexander Kuzmin, to the rector of the Moscow Architectural Institute Dmitry Shvidkovsky on the appointment of A. V. Shchusev Elizaveta Likhacheva.
This assignment is wrong. Grigory Revzin writes that the new director "… only three years ago she received a basic education as an art critic (she previously worked in the Federal Migration Service), did not have time to earn scientific authority, is unknown to specialists in the history and theory of architecture, has no reputation in architectural circles and among museum workers" … Likhacheva does not have an academic degree or any significant scientific works, and this is what she herself writes in her own defense: “Speaking seriously, we will all die, but the museum will remain. What difference does it make who runs the museum? He's not going anywhere anyway. " And then: “It’s pointless to go and tell everyone that I’m better than they think of me, and paying attention to everyone will break down.”
Are you satisfied with the director of MUAR with a similar way of thinking and such phraseology? This is enough to understand that Likhachev should not be allowed on a cannon shot to the leadership of cultural institutions. The results of the competition should be considered unsuccessful, and it is your duty to convince the Minister of Culture of this. It is necessary to cancel the decision made, prolong the competition and find in our professional environment a worthy head of the museum, named after Alexei Shchusev.
