Actually, the building of the new restaurant has become just such an experiment. Designing the structure on the side of the freeway, the architects sought to combine the dynamism of the highway with the tranquil dignity of the rolling landscape stretching for miles around.
The public areas of the restaurant - the entrance foyer, the recreation area and the dining room - have panoramic glazing: they offer beautiful views of the surrounding landscapes. On the contrary, the technical rooms and the kitchen are facing the road - they are protected from the noise of the road by a roof, whose broken slopes are lowered to the very ground. The roof of such an unusual shape (like a sheet of paper folded several times) gives the building a dynamic silhouette, and its double-sided cladding - with patinated copper on the outside and wood on the inside - turns the building into a spectacular and memorable landmark for drivers. Natural wood is used in the interior design of the restaurant, and summer verandas are organized under wide canopies.
