The new building is located in an alpine valley in the Veneto region - on the green outskirts of the town of Agordo, but close to all the necessary infrastructure and community centers - a school, a stadium, etc. It is intended for holding various kinds of exhibitions - professional and cultural, conferences, concerts and other performances, that is, it serves not only as an exhibition, but also as a public center.
A rectangular block with an area of 6400 m2 with glazed long western and end northern facades facing the Alps. The zigzag profile of its floors reminds of traditional gable roofs, the choice of a frame from wooden trusses is also determined by tradition, only local - characteristic of the Agorda Valley. Considerations of stability and the need for a lightweight structure with a span of almost 45 m were also taken into account.
The laminated veneer lumber construction parts were manufactured in the factory using digitally controlled machines, which made construction faster and easier.
The eastern and southern walls are sheathed with metal on the outside and chipboard panels on the inside. These sides face the green slope and the loading dock, respectively. The concrete floor is covered with quartz.
Removing the roof in summer protects the glazing from the sun's rays, and in winter low sun penetrates the interior, reducing the need for artificial lighting and heating. Also, the take-out serves as protection from rain for the structure and the entrances to the building.
