This spring for Yukon Engineering was marked by participation in several significant events for the facade industry. The largest was the two-day scientific and technical conference “Innovative constructive solutions for the U-KON curtain-type ventilated facade system. An advanced tool for conducting facade business”, which took place within the framework of the MosBuild-2016 construction exhibition. In parallel with this, within the framework of the Batimat exhibition, another conference was held - "Facades of a modern city through the eyes of manufacturers". In both cases, Yukon Engineering initiated and organized events designed to become important discussion and communication platforms for discussing the most pressing issues in the industry.
Together with partners-manufacturers of cladding materials and fasteners - such as Agrob Buchtal, Laminated Plastics Plant, TD Alcotek, Architecture of Wellbeing, Terreal, Elementa and Buildx - Yukon Engineering discussed novelties and innovations in the field of constructive solutions for U-kon curtain and ventilated facade systems. And together with Reynaers Aluminum and Guardian, Yukon specialists talked about the latest solutions in the field of architectural aluminum systems and the features of modern energy-efficient glazing.
U-kon.club is a modern communication space for all participants in the process of work on the object
The central event of the conference, dedicated to innovative facade systems, was the speech of the President of Yukon Engineering, Mikhail Motyaev, who spoke about the tools and trends in the facade business. One of the newest tools that is actively used by the company and today, according to Motyaev, is the most convenient and effective - this is the U-kon.club association - a modern communication space for all participants in the process of working on a particular object.
The versatility of the universal U-KON ventilated curtain wall systems
Another interesting issue raised during the conference is the regulatory and permissive base and safe operation of hinged ventilated facades. A detailed report on this topic was presented to the public by the head of the Yukon Engineering regulatory and technical group Elizaveta Cheburkanova.
U-kon today is 20 years of successful work on the Russian market, more than 5 thousand completed projects of various complexity, over 13.5 million m² of facades assembled using U-kon systems. U-kon systems are versatile. They are equally successfully and actively used for facades made of composite materials, terracotta ceramic slabs, HPL panels, ceramic granite, fiber cement slabs, natural stone and clinker tiles. Recent trends are associated with the use of U-kon systems for tempered glass facades, thin-walled ceramics and even solar panels.
For each cladding material, U-kon offers an optimal and individually tailored solution that guarantees the quality and durability of the building. Thus, a system designed for fastening cladding with cassette-type elements made of composite materials has long been tested and successfully proven itself. Facing panels in this case are ready-made cassettes, in the horizontal folds of which, before installation, a supporting profile is installed. The upper bearing horizontal profile is attached to the vertical guides with rivets, while the lower one is installed in a “lock” with the underlying upper horizontal profile. For cladding panels made of natural and agglomerated stone, a system has been developed designed for a hidden method of fastening. For clinker tiles and their imitations, the ATC-450 and LT-450 systems have been created, which also make it possible to work with ceramic tiles "like a brick" or decorative concrete tiles.
Such rather new solutions for terracotta ceramic tiles, which are proposed to be fixed using clamps made of corrosion-resistant steel or aluminum clips, are no less popular today. Also in the design bureau of the Yukon Engineering company a unique technology has been developed - the U-kon ATC-246 system, which allows unlimited combination of facing material of various shapes, including large-format panels, sizes and textures in the same or different planes, with or without offset. As a result of such versatility, it becomes possible to implement any architectural ideas without the need to use non-systemic and expensive solutions.
New solutions for the U-KON ventilated facade with flat tempered glass and photovoltaic modules
One of the main directions in the field of ventilated facades can be confidently called the use of various translucent structures that meet the requirements for energy saving, reduce the construction time of buildings, and ensure the durability of buildings. Given the popularity of glass facades, the development of new technologies for facade systems and building glazing are extremely important today. U-kon offers a technology where cladding panels are ready-made cassettes consisting of a frame formed by A-72, A-80, A-81 profiles and tempered flat glass or a photovoltaic module glued into the frame. Such a technological solution has already found popularity. One of the most notable examples of the application of this technology was the Skolkovo innovation center - the first city in Russia, which, as planned, will live exclusively on its own energy resources.
The undoubted advantage of the systems offered by Yukon Engineering is the possibility of their application in all climatic and seismic zones
Numerous tests have shown that the material is able to withstand temperature drops from -60 ° C to + 80 ° C, wind speed over 200 km / h and seismic impact up to nine points on the Richter scale. The consistently high quality of the product allows Yukon Engineering to remain the leader in the field of ventilated facade systems for many years.
