The MONUMENTALITÁ & MODERNITÁ conference is dedicated to the intriguing and at the same time acute topic of modern perception and interpretation of the totalitarian architecture of Italy, Germany and Russia. Should ideology interfere with the preservation of magnificent ensembles created by the will of dictators? Practicing architects and modern researchers of the heritage of the 20th century will try to answer this question.
Opening of the VIII International Exhibition “Architecture. Urban planning. Restoration”is traditionally timed to coincide with the Restorer's Day. The annual review will showcase the best achievements in this area.
The long-awaited V Moscow Cycle Night starts in Moscow on July 2: the historian of architecture and the permanent curator of the popular project Moskultprog Sergey Nikitin will lead it around the Leningradsky Prospekt area and its environs. The comments of Nikitin and his invited experts will be broadcast live on the Silver Rain radio for three thousand participants. Grab an FM receiver at home. For those more sophisticated in architecture, the Strelka Institute invites you to attend a lecture by the famous British architect Farshid Mussavi, who is on the list of the most famous women in the profession, along with Zaha Hadid, Kazuo Sejima and Elizabeth Diller.
Finally, the traditional summer festival of architecture and design "Golden Capital", full of various exhibitions and heated discussions, starts in Novosibirsk these days. Within the framework of the festival, the results of the Useful Mutation 2.0 competition will be summed up and a special project of the German Cultural Center named after Goethe "ART_GOROD", designed to saturate the urban space with objects of art.
