The ceremony of awarding the winners of the competition for energy efficient projects "Home for Life in Balance with Nature", organized by Rockwool in conjunction with the International Exhibition of Architecture and Design Arch Moscow, took place. The jury made an unexpected decision - not to present the First Prize, but at the same time to award two Second Prizes.

This year, the competition received applications and projects from different cities and countries, including Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, Italy, Austria and the Netherlands.

The jury had a difficult task to select from all projects those that most closely matched the conditions and at the same time demonstrated fresh architectural solutions. Therefore, only three works made it to the final, of which the jury singled out Gerhard Hauser's project "A Villa for Two Pianists" and "A New House Inside Abandoned Ruins" by Daniil Slota and Anna Stadukhina. This year the jury decided not to award the First Prize.

Says the chairman of the CAP Council for Sustainable Architecture and NP "Council for Green" Construction ", member of the Board of the Union of Architects of Russia Alexander Remizov, who is a member of the jury: We really liked Anna's idea, which sets itself the task of solving a real problem, they use old ruins in the construction of a new house, which undeniably corresponds to the principles of sustainable architecture. Therefore, both of these projects received the Second Prize. I am especially glad that the Audience Award was given to the project "Battery" by Alexey Ananyev, since this project is distinguished by simplicity, laconicism and an organic combination of a house with a natural landscape."
