May 26, 2012 the awarding ceremony of three winning projects of the competition “Home for Life in Balance with Nature” took place. The authors of the project that won the first place were awarded a prize of 1 million rubles, the second prize was 300 thousand, and the fate of the special prize in the amount of 250 thousand rubles was determined by the audience vote.
The prizes were presented to the participants by the head of the ROCKWOOL Design Center Tatiana Smirnova. The first place, according to the unanimous opinion of the jury, was taken by the project of Nikita Asadov and Ivan Ilyin.
“The ROCKWOOL Competition has given us an opportunity to seriously think about sustainable green building and energy efficient technologies. Our project was based on a number of simple solutions that allow us to design a house in accordance with modern requirements for comfort, resource conservation, climatic features, and at the same time make the construction quite economical,”commented Nikita Asadov. Ivan Ilyin wished that in the future “this competition would contribute to the development of the topic of energy efficiency in Russia, attract even more architects who will promote these ideas. In my opinion, this is a very noble cause."
The jury awarded the second place to the project of Nikolai Vorotnikov.
Nikolay thanked ROCKWOOL for organizing the competition, stressing that it promotes a new consciousness in the field of energy conservation. “Each person should be involved in the process of global energy conservation, should understand that he is able to contribute.”
The main intrigue of the competition was the results of the audience vote, which determined who would receive the special prize. Until the last moment it was not clear which of the authors won the greatest sympathy among the audience. However, the vote count showed that the victory went to the Ecodesign studio: Olga Makarova, Natalia Aksenova, Meteleva Ekaterina, Makrova Valentina, Osipov Georgy.
The team was represented by Olga Makarova: “Thank you ROCKWOOL for the opportunity to take part in such an interesting competition. It is especially pleasant that we received the Audience Award. This means that we work for people and people value our efforts. We thank everyone who voted for us!"
“This year the competition was held for the first time, and we are very pleased with the level of work that our participants submitted. We would like to thank all the participants and spectators who followed its progress and voted for the contestants. We hope that next year the competition will bring together no less talented authors and original projects.
