The competition for the concept of a park zone for the Dolina Uyuta sports and recreation complex in Murmansk was announced in May at the initiative of the regional government. The park is in active demand among the townspeople at any time of the year - they rest here, go in for sports, walk; festivals and other public events are also held in the park. Now it is planned to improve it.
The competition was held in an international format. Professional architects and students were invited to participate (student projects were evaluated separately). The prize fund was 5.8 million rubles. The best project in the professional category is planned to be implemented.

V2 Architects (Russia)
The architects tried to reorganize and update convenient routes to the most socially significant objects, to equip spaces for active and relaxing recreation at any time of the year, to show the beauty of the nature of this place, providing access to all the remarkable places of the park. The relief was used as an advantage: on the territory it was possible to create observation platforms and lay paths with variable heights, suitable for walking and sports training. The circular embankment with a diameter of 200 meters, connecting several zones of the park, becomes the central object and a recognizable symbol of the territory.

TOBE Architects (Russia)
The concept of the park makes it possible to demonstrate the arctic nature in all its diversity - many varieties of local plants make up a single composition. Plants from central Russia are proposed to be placed in a greenhouse, shaped like the traditional buildings of the Sami, the indigenous inhabitants of the Kola Peninsula.

Wayah (Canada)
The spatial organization of the park is based on the trajectory of fish movement in the reservoir. Endless looping paths flow through the territory like a school of fish, providing strong connections between the various "bubble spaces" located around the perimeter. The size of the "bubbles" increases as you get closer to the center of the park. For fairs and other events, promenades are organized. The main attraction is a large open space with a fish pavilion and a view of the pond, which turns into a skating rink in winter.

Team Experimental Studio - Design and Space (Colombia)
In this project, the park turns into a research laboratory capable of building relationships between people and the environment, using water and its various states as a tool. Small structures and spaces delicately inscribed in the landscape of the park allow visitors to interact with nature, literally feel it thanks to special sensory "artifacts". The park is suitable not only for sports and recreation, but also for holding events of various formats and scales.

Team Double AR (Russia)
The main goal was to preserve the unique nature and enhance its qualities. Despite the fact that people consider themselves the only “users” of the park, this is far from the case. The territory is home to a large number of birds, animals, fish, insects. Therefore, the project involves the adoption of measures to revive, preserve and develop the ecosystem of the park, to create comfortable conditions for all its inhabitants. The authors also tried to create an atmosphere of the Russian North for the visitors of the park, which was embodied in thematic objects scattered across the territory.

Augustin Jose Sienra Chavez (Brazil)
Residents of modern cities, which suffer from a lack of green spaces, are often skeptical about park improvement, fearing that there will be less green space. Therefore, the author of the project proposes a strategy for the most careful intervention in order to preserve the existing natural environment, while providing recreation facilities for visitors (campfire areas, viewing platforms, skating rinks, etc.).
