The ensemble of various buildings will be located in the Aran Valley (Valle de Arán) halfway between Barcelona and San Sebastian.
The € 20 million project should underscore, according to the architect, the grandeur of the natural surroundings with its small scale. The complex called "Banhs d'Arties" will be located in the immediate vicinity of the ski resort. Thermal baths were built on these mineral springs during the time of the Roman Empire.
The complex will include a fitness and spa center, two five-star hotels, a restaurant and an extensive park with a variety of spatial solutions. A nearby university clinic is going to participate in the project, using its scientific base to study the effects of mineral water and to develop therapeutic diets.
An area of 22,600 sq. M will be used for construction. m, the buildings will be located on it according to the principle of the "village", which will give greater variety to the spatial solution. The individual buildings will be connected by the same roof solution - a saddle-shaped, four-pitched metal roof, which is typical for residential buildings in this area of Spain.
