The new theater is part of a new master plan for the center of this Dutch city, developed by West 8. The theater building acts as the center of the entire district, attracting citizens both day and night. Its sculptural form and bright orange color are important: all this makes the building an undoubted attraction in the central part of Lelystad. A large cafe and bar in the theater complex, overlooking the square in front of it, should attract visitors there even during those hours when there are usually no performances.
The main foyer develops vertically: both auditoriums and the conference hall located in the building go there. The height of the structure ranges from three to five floors.
The facades of the theater are covered with perforated steel panels of a triangular shape, which should create a moiré effect when viewed from a distance.
