The building will be located on the banks of Vilen, not far from the old town area. Such a favorable location, however, almost ruined the project: a local official involved in the architectural heritage did not approve it for 17 years, considering the height of the building (7 and 13 floors) too high: in his opinion, at this point it was impossible to build anything higher than 4 floors … However, his successor in this post thinks differently, so it is planned to start construction in 2011, and complete it in the spring of 2013.
Almost completely glazed facades are covered with terraces in the south, and a hanging winter garden in the north. Since all apartments will face both sides, most of them will receive both. Some buyers have been waiting for their homes for 15 years, so, according to Jean Nouvel, they all have every right to believe that they got the best apartment in the house.
The space on the first floor will be public, but it has not yet been decided whether a store or some kind of cultural institution will be opened there. There will be a garden on the roof of the building; perhaps the house will also have a green wall.
The complex will have about 45 apartments ranging from 70 to 300 m2; the overwhelming majority of them will exceed 100 m2 of area. Developers expect to charge 6,000 - 7,000 euros per 1 m2.
